Motion: I make a motion that the zoning map amendment is consistent with
the Plan Sanlee long-range plan designation of Countryside because the land
use associated with the request would be appropriate for development in the
agricultural and undeveloped lands outside of the Urban Service Areas of
Lee County.
Mover: Dr. Andre Knecht
For: 6 —Arianna Lavallee, Dr. Andre Knecht, Robert Reives, Kirk Smith, Bill Carver,
Mark Lovick
Absent: 1 — Cameron Sharpe
Motion Result: Passed
Motion: I make a motion to approve the proposed zoning map amendment
because it is reasonable and in the public interest given that the land use
associated with this request is a campground, which is appropriate on a large
tract of land with natural features that may serve as amenities for this use and
because, even if the rezoning request is approved, the use must still comply
with all local, state and federal regulations — including, but not limited to,
compliance with the UDO floodplain regulations and watershed regulations —
prior to the rezoning approval being issued that would allow the development
of the site in the manner proposed.
Mover: Dr. Andre Knecht
For: 6 — Arianna Lavallee, Dr. Andre Knecht, Robert Reives, Kirk Smith, Bill Carver,
Mark Lovick
Absent: 1 — Cameron Sharpe
Motion Result: Passed
V.B San-Lee Park Mountain Bike Trail Update
County Manager Dr. John Crumpton stated that Black Diamond Trail Designs has
completed the dedicated return emergency access trail at San-Lee Park and has
begun work on the beginner trail which will be on the far right looking down the trail.
The trails are designed to go from a beginner to expert level from right to left. There
is a video that the owner of Black Diamond Trails has put together to explain the
process to redo the trails and has asked the community for input on trail features.
The goal is to have everything finished by Thanksgiving. The County is planning to
have the beginner and intermediate trails opened by the first of October. County
Manager Dr. John Crumpton stated that staff continue to recommend that anyone
that is a minor under 16 years of age be accompanied by an adult. Commissioner
Reives requested appropriate signage that provides for parental supervision for
minors on trails.
21_8-30 San-Lee Bike Trail Update.pdf
VI.
