BK:00024 PG:0929 <br />Aye: Hayes, Oldham, Parks, Paschal, Reives, Shook, and Womack <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />County Manager John Crumpton asked the Board to consider a revised summer meeting <br />schedule for the months of July, August and September 2012 for Commissioner meetings. The revised <br />meeting schedule would involve only one meeting a month, unless a special meeting should be <br />required. The revised schedule would allow Commissioners and staff the opportunity to plan family <br />vacation time. Commissioner Parks moved to approve the recommended summer meeting schedule <br />for the following dates and times: <br />4 p.m., Monday, July 16, 2012, <br />4 p.m., Monday, August 20, 2012, and <br />4 p.m., Monday, September 17, 2012 <br />All meetings will be held in the Commissioners' Room at the Lee County Government Center, First <br />Floor, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Hayes, Oldham, Parks, Paschal, Reives, Shook, and Womack <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Assistant County Manager /Finance Director Lisa Minter presented the Monthly Financial Report <br />for the month ending April 2012. No action was taken. <br />County Manager John Crumpton presented his Monthly Report to the Board, a copy of which is <br />attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. No action was taken. <br />At this time the Board took a 10- minute recess. Upon returning, with all members present, the <br />meeting resumed. <br />The Board at this conducted public hearings that had been advertised for this date and time. <br />The first public hearing was in reference to the FY 2012 -13 budget. County Manager John <br />Crumpton briefly outlined his proposed budget. <br />Chairman Shook opened the public hearing that had been advertised for this date and time. <br />The following spoke in reference to the FY 2012 -13 budget: <br />• Ms. Anne Beal, 338 Beal Drive, Sanford - Principal at Tramway Elementary <br />School. Ms. Beal asked that Commissioners approve a 1% supplement increase <br />for school staff and the funding of curriculum coaches in the upcoming budget. <br />• Dr. Jeff Moss, Superintendent, Lee County Schools — stated that $172,000 will <br />have to be cut from the schools budget due to an increase in their health <br />insurance if Commissioners did not fund their current budget request. He further <br />stated that $626,000 will have to be cut from their capital line item if the <br />51 <br />
