Since March 2020, they have conducted
virtual classes which included the virtual production of The Show Must Go On. The
Theater also continues to provide numerous scholarships so everyone can have an
opportunity to be included. Temple Theater offers private and group voice classes.
Temple Theater generally brings in over 40,000 people annually to their events.
Because most people and organizations have struggled financially during COVID,
donations and support from other organizations were not as high as they were in
previous years. Summer programs start in a week. The last performance allowed 100
patrons based on the current capacity restrictions related to the pandemic. As
restrictions lessen they will be able to open their events to larger crowds.
Arts Council - 8:30 p.m.
The Lee County Arts Council is an organization that assists with facilitating resources to
other organizations to provide art programs and performances and to help to culture arts
such as culinary arts, dance, and music. 75% of grant funds are given to other
organizations in the county. The Arts Council has provided grants to Temple Theater,
Humane Center, El Refugio, community orchestra, Carolina Jazz, CCCC Foundation,
and other artists individually. Funding also helps with the overhead costs. The Arts
Council also works with the schools to come up with programs to guide students to
achieve more visibility on their artwork.
