Commissioners <br />present were Richard B. Hayes, Larry "Doc" Oldham, Charles T. Parks, ..Nathan E. Paschal, Linda A. <br />R <br />Shook, and James K. Womack. Commissioner Robert T. Reives joinedIthe meeting at 2:20 p.m. Staff <br />in attendance included County Manager John Grumpton, Assistant County Manager /Finance Director <br />Lisa Minter, and Clerk to the Board Gaynell Le`�� <br />Chairman Shook called the work session <br />following business was transacted: <br />Commissioner Oldham delivered the <br />The pledge of <br />The first item l5resented was from- Dohald Andrews, Chairman of the Lee County Fire Advisory <br />Board to discuss service \ districts for volunteer fire departments that will impact insurance <br />premiums. Mr. Andrews stated�he Fire Advisory Board recommends redrawing the fire service district <br />lines which will impact all of the seven volunteer fire departments and provide fire insurance coverage <br />for most of the � nty A public hearing must be held before the process can be completed and passed <br />on to the State. Napproved after the public hearing, approximately 1,000 structures throughout the <br />county will be eligible�or better fire ratings. Commissioner Womack moved to hold a public hearing on <br />redraw`ngfire departme t service districts during the second meeting in June. Upon a vote, the results <br />were <br />Hayes, Oldham, Parks, Paschal, Reives, Shook, and Womack <br />None <br />County Manager John Crumpton outlined budget changes that include the following: <br />• Reduction of one -time revenue - dropped over $700,000, <br />• 3% COLA for county employees - $450,000 increase, <br />
