2012 - J <br />LEE COUNTY <br />O 0 4 U.- . @ G1 q [b CO CJ <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE COUNTY OF LEE <br />HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN <br />WHEREAS, the County of Lee, Sanford, North Carolina, has experienced repetitive <br />and severe damage due to disaster events, resulting in hazards to public health and safety and <br />serious property damage; and <br />WHEREAS, a multi- hazard mitigation plan is required by several elements executed <br />with the North Carolina Division of Emergency Management to provide funding for flood hazard <br />mitigation projects; and <br />WHEREAS, a Hazard Mitigation Plan has been developed by the County of Lee to <br />address the identified hazards, and notably disaster events; and <br />WHEREAS, the Hazard Mitigation Plan recommends several activities that will help <br />® keep the flooding problems from getting worse and will help property owners in the County of <br />Lee protect their properties. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Lee County Board of Commissioners <br />that: <br />1. The Lee County, North Carolina Hazard Mitigation Plan, including the City of <br />Sanford, and Town of Broadway, is hereby adopted as an official plan of the County <br />of Lee, and <br />2. The Hazard Mitigation Plan shall be transmitted to the North Carolina Division of <br />Emergency Management and the Emergency Management Agency, Region IV. <br />Adopted this gch day of January 2012. <br />ATTEST: <br />ji a A.
