VIII. COMMISSIONERS' COMMENTS <br /> Commissioner Carver spoke about House Bill 32 concerning opportunity scholarships to <br /> finance tuition expenses for non-public schools. There is an aspect of it that would allow <br /> County's to supplement the scholarships. Mr. Carver asked for consideration of doing a <br /> Resolution to encourage the General Assembly to pass the bill. <br /> Commissioner Lavallee stated that JCPC monitored the DASH mentoring program <br /> and Project Challenge. They are continually checking up on each program. <br /> Commissioner Reives requested a Resolution honoring Chief Yarborough for his 50 <br /> years of service and asked to be listed as the Resolution sponsor. <br /> Commissioner Reives departed the meeting at 7:53 p.m. <br /> IX. CLOSED SESSION <br /> Closed Session to discuss the acquisition of property <br /> Motion: Motion to go into Closed Session per N.C. General Statute 143- <br /> 318.11(a)(4) and 143- 318.11(a)(9) to discuss public safety security plans. Clerk to <br /> the Board Jennifer Gamble requested an amendment to the motion to modify it to <br /> reference N.C.
