A successful grant application would provide 50% funding <br /> for Phase II. Phase ll at Kiwanis Childrens'Park includes a nature themed play area <br /> for children ages 2-5, restroom/shelter plaza, ADA sidewalks and furnishings. Phase <br /> I at Kiwanis Childrens'Park is currently underway with a completion set for August <br /> 2021. Phase ll at Kiwanis Childrens'Park would complete the Site Specific Master <br /> Plan for this park that was completed in 2018.The Parks and Recreation Advisory <br /> Board approved recommending the NC PARTF application to the Board of <br /> Commissioners at their last meeting on February 22, 2021. The total project cost is <br /> $579,91. On March 10, 2021 the Lee <br /> County Board of Elections met to view product demonstrations by two vendors for <br /> new voting system upgrades. The new voting systems must be tested in a <br /> simulated election and approved by the State Board of Elections before a final <br /> recommendation can be presented to the Lee County Board of Commissioners for <br /> approval.
