BK:00024 PG:0848 <br />LEE COUNTY <br />©oovm enOGG <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />BUDGET WORK SESSION <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />106 HILLCREST DRIVE <br />SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA 27330 <br />APRIL 16, 2012 <br />The budget work session of the Lee County Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, <br />State of North Carolina, convened at 4 p.m. in the Gordon Wicker Conference Room, First Floor, Lee <br />County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, on said date. Commissioners <br />present were Richard B. Hayes, Larry "Doc' Oldham, Charles T. Parks, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. <br />Reives, Linda A. Shook, and James K. Womack. Other staff in attendance was County Manager John <br />Crumpton, Assistant County Manager /Finance Director Lisa Minter, County Attorney W. Dale Talbert, <br />and Clerk to the Board Gaynell M. Lee. <br />Chairman Shook called the work session to order and the following business was transacted: <br />Commissioner Hayes delivered the invocation asking for a moment of silence. <br />The pledge of allegiance was recited. <br />Ms. Shook welcomed everyone and thanked them for attending She stated the purpose of the <br />work session was to hear Capital Improvement Project (CIP) presentations from the Lee County Board <br />of Education, Central Carolina Community College, and Lee County Government projects. <br />Dr. Jeff Moss, Superintendent of the Lee County Schools discussed projects listed on their CIP <br />request which included (1) completion of the Lee County High School project — scheduled for <br />completion in August of this year; (2) electric heat replacement at two schools; (3) renovations to East <br />Lee and West Lee Middle Schools; (4) construction of a new elementary school; and (5) a new HVA <br />system at Lee County High School. <br />Commissioner Oldham left the meeting at 4:35 p.m. to attend a special called Board of Health <br />meeting. <br />Central Carolina Community College Finance Director Wayne Robinson (on behalf of President <br />Dr. Bud Marchant), along with CCCC Board of Director members Bobby Powell and Ed Garrison, and <br />Architect Taylor Hobbs, discussed and presented plans for a new Continuation Building and <br />renovations to the Dennis Wicker Civic Center. <br />Commissioner Oldham joined the meeting at 4:50 p.m. to continue discussion of the work <br />session <br />
