NEW BUSINESS
V.A Resource Management (Landfill) Scale
Solid Waste Superintendent Joseph Cherry stated that the current scale at the
Resource Management Facility has been in service for 30 years and has collapsed
due to deterioration of the support beams. The scale is beyond repair and has been
condemned. The current scale would cost more to repair than to replace it with a
new one. Central Carolina Scale has an agreement with Lee Iron and Metal which
will take the scrap from the old scale to help with some of the costs. County
Manager John Crumpton stated that the funds will come from the Solid Waste Fund
not the General Fund and there are adequate funds to cover the purchase.
Scale Status Report.pdf
Quotes for Scale Replacement.doc
Scale Specifications.pdf
Motion: Motion to approve the purchase of a resource management scale in
the amount of$45,150.
Mover: Robert Reives
For: 7 - Arianna Lavallee, Dr. Andre Knecht, Robert Reives, Cameron Sharpe,
Kirk Smith, Bill Carver, Mark Lovick
Motion Result: Passed
V.B Request for Public Hearing on Spec Building 3
SAGA and CCEP have requested that the City of Sanford and Lee County enter into
another Memorandum of Understanding to lease a third spec building at Central
Carolina Enterprise Park for economic development purposes.
