V.A Tax Lien Advertisement for Delinquent 2020 Real Property Taxes <br /> Tax Administrator Michael Brown presented information regarding the Tax Lien <br /> Advertisement for Delinquent 2020 Real Property Taxes. North Carolina General <br /> Statute Section 105-369(a), requires the tax collector to report to the governing <br /> board, unpaid real property taxes for the current fiscal year. The governing board <br /> must then order the tax collector to advertise the tax liens. A report of all unpaid <br /> 2020 real property taxes was submitted to the Clerk to the Board and the Board of <br /> Commissioners on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, and is on file with the Clerk to the <br /> Board and is available for review on the commissioner's webpage. The <br /> advertisement of tax liens will be published in the Sanford Herald no sooner than <br /> March 1, 2021. The total amount of unpaid property taxes as of January 20, 2021 <br /> was $2,617,157.80. <br /> GS_105-369.pdf <br /> Motion: Motion to order the Tax Collector to advertise 2020 delinquent real <br /> property taxes per NCGS 105-369(a). <br /> Mover: Cameron Sharpe <br /> For: 7 - Arianna Lavallee, Dr. Andre Knecht, Robert Reives, Cameron Sharpe, <br /> Kirk Smith, Bill Carver, Mark Lovick <br /> Motion Result: Passed <br /> V.B Lee County Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Master Plan <br /> County Manager John Crumpton presented a proposal from Alfred Benesch and <br /> Company for the Lee County Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Master Plan. <br /> The Lee County Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Master Plan is a document <br /> that outlines the next 10 years for the department. The document covers the entire <br /> department from parks, programs, athletics, facilities, staff, trends, etc. and is a <br /> necessary document to apply for grant opportunities. The current Comprehensive <br /> Master Plan was completed in 2010 and is outdated. Lee County Government staff <br /> accepted Requests for Qualifications on December 18, 2020. Six firms submitted <br /> qualifications for the 2021 Lee County Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Master <br /> Plan. The selection committee evaluated the proposals and graded based on the <br /> criteria identified in the Request for Qualifications document. The criteria included <br /> Project Approach 25%, Project Team 25%, Past Project Experience 15%, PARTF <br /> Grant Experience 15%, Project Cost Estimate 10% and Presentation of Proposal <br /> 10%. The firms that submitted qualifications and their grades based on the scoring <br /> of the selection committee were as follows:Alfred Benesch and Company - 89.5, <br /> McGill and Associates - 78, Withers Ravenel- 77, McAdams - 69, Kimley Horn - 66, <br /> and Design Workshop - 52.5.
