V.A Tax Lien Advertisement for Delinquent 2020 Real Property Taxes Tax Administrator Michael Brown presented information regarding the Tax Lien Advertisement for Delinquent 2020 Real Property Taxes. North Carolina General Statute Section 105-369(a), requires the tax collector to report to the governing board, unpaid real property taxes for the current fiscal year. The governing board must then order the tax collector to advertise the tax liens. A report of all unpaid 2020 real property taxes was submitted to the Clerk to the Board and the Board of Commissioners on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, and is on file with the Clerk to the Board and is available for review on the commissioner's webpage. The advertisement of tax liens will be published in the Sanford Herald no sooner than March 1, 2021. The total amount of unpaid property taxes as of January 20, 2021 was $2,617,157.80. The Lee County Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Master Plan is a document that outlines the next 10 years for the department. The document covers the entire department from parks, programs, athletics, facilities, staff, trends, etc. and is a necessary document to apply for grant opportunities. The current Comprehensive Master Plan was completed in 2010 and is outdated. Lee County Government staff accepted Requests for Qualifications on December 18, 2020. Six firms submitted qualifications for the 2021 Lee County Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Master Plan. The selection committee evaluated the proposals and graded based on the criteria identified in the Request for Qualifications document. The criteria included Project Approach 25%, Project Team 25%, Past Project Experience 15%, PARTF Grant Experience 15%, Project Cost Estimate 10% and Presentation of Proposal 10%. The firms that submitted qualifications and their grades based on the scoring of the selection committee were as follows:Alfred Benesch and Company - 89.5, McGill and Associates - 78, Withers Ravenel- 77, McAdams - 69, Kimley Horn - 66, and Design Workshop - 52.5. The amount of the project is $55,000 which is the amount that was budgeted in the FY 2021 budget.
