There is about $8.5 million in ongoing projects including construction at various <br /> parks, the new courthouse, register of deeds building, board of elections building, <br /> Douglas Drive Building, and the Government Center. The parks project includes Temple, <br /> Kiwanis, Horton, and OT Sloan Parks. The traffic flow of the parking lot at the Lee County <br /> Government Center will be modified and there will be a raised crosswalk installed with <br /> flashing lights to increase pedestrian safety across Hillcrest Drive. The County has <br /> teamed up with the Triangle J Council of Governments and the NC Historical Society and <br /> obtained a grant to improve the historical courthouse.
