EXCISE TAX (None) <br /> 04, Or `�� <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF PROPERTY <br /> LOCATED AT 504 WALL STREET, WASHINGTON AVE NEIGHBORHOOD PIN <br /> 9642-68-5321-00, LEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Lee owns certain vacant property located at 504 Wall Street, <br /> PIN 9642-68-5321-00, Sanford, Lee County, North Carolina, as shown on a deed recorded in <br /> Deed Book 1324, Page 715, in the office of the Register of Deeds for Lee County, to which the <br /> record thereof reference is hereby made for more complete description; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the taxable value of the property is $2,200.00; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the above-referenced property was conveyed to the County as the result of a <br /> foreclosure sale; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the amount of fees and taxes owed on the property as the result of such sale <br /> is $1,898.31; and, <br /> WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statutes §§ 153A-176 and 160A-269 permit the <br /> County to sell property by upset bid, after receipt of an offer to purchase the property; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Lee proposes to dispose of the above described property as it <br /> is surplus to the County's needs and as such the County previously declared the property surplus <br /> at its August 17, 2020 regular meeting; and, <br /> WHEREAS, at its September 1, 2020 regular City Council meeting, the City Council <br /> voted to deed its interest in the property to Lee County in order for Lee County to dispose of the <br /> property; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners authorized staff to advertise the <br /> initial offer in any higher, upsetting offer, subject to the upset bid procedure at its August 17, <br /> 2020 Board meeting; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the offer was advertised in The Sanford Herald on October 6, 2020 and no <br /> other upset bids were recieved. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of Commissioners <br /> as follows: <br /> 1. The Lee County Board of Commissioners hereby accepts the offer of$1,000 from <br /> Marie King-Cutler. <br />
