BRITT <br /> REGISTER OF DEEDS <br /> FILED Jan 06, 2021 <br /> AT 03:25:21 pm <br /> BOOK 00003 <br /> START PAGE 0682 <br /> END PAGE 0682 <br /> INSTRUMENT # 00116 <br /> EXCISE TAX (None) <br /> ��Y, <br /> co/T5 4.' <br /> e'f cA�0 <br /> RESOLUTION ADDRESSING GOVENOR COOPER'S REQUEST FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENTS TO PASS <br /> ORDINANCES ENFORCING COVID-19 RELATED EXECUTIVE ORDERS <br /> WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissions are tasked with promoting better health and a <br /> safe environment for all Lee County residents; and <br /> WHEREAS, COVID-19 threatens that safe environment, claiming 38 residents who have <br /> succumbed to the virus, and disrupting our personal lives, businesses, and education; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is the goal of the Board is to give guidance on managing the impact of the virus by <br /> balancing the need to protect the community from the disease and the desire to minimize the negative <br /> impacts of isolation, business disruption, reduced services, and limits on schools; and <br /> WHEREAS,our community, businesses, and schools are responding responsibly by observing <br /> personal safety and business guidelines designed to reduce the spread of COVID-19; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Lee County Health Department and Emergency Services are effectively monitoring, <br /> responding to, and reporting on the COVID health crisis; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Department is monitoring and encouraging individuals and business to <br /> observe appropriate cautions directed by the Governor's COVID-19 Executive Orders. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of Commissioners that the Board <br /> finds that the county is responding appropriately to minimize the spread of the virus and will not adopt <br /> local ordinances to establish civil penalties for violations of the Governor's COVID-19 Executive Orders. <br /> ADOPTED this 21'day of December, 2020.
