24 734 <br />County Manager John Crumpton presented the Monthly Financial Report for month ending <br />January 2012. No action was taken. <br />Mr. Crumpton presented the County Manager's Monthly Report, a copy of which is attached to <br />these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. <br />Mr. Crumpton discussed a letter received from the Johnston - Lee - Harnett Community Action for <br />the release of $6,500 requested in the FY 2011 -12 budget. As part of the budget agreement, <br />Commissioners voted to award the funds contingent upon Community Action holding a conference at <br />the Dennis A. Wicker Conference Center in January 2012. The letter stated they did not receive the <br />funding for the conference and would like to request consideration for the County to still fund the <br />agency for this year. Commissioner Womack stated he didn't think the money should be released <br />because they did not meet their obligation and did not present measurable service for the request. <br />After discussion, Commissioner Reives moved to approve the release of $6,500 to Johnston -Lee- <br />Harnett Community Action as requested. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Hayes, Oldham, Paschal, and Reives <br />Nay: Parks, Shook, and Womack <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a 4 to 3 vote. <br />Commissioner Parks moved to go into closed session to discuss a personnel matter per N.C. <br />General Statute 143- 318.11(a) (6). Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Hayes, Oldham, Parks, Paschal, Reives, Shook, and Womack <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously and the Board was in closed <br />session. Upon returning from closed session, with all members present, the meeting resumed. <br />With no further business to come before the Board, Commissioner Hayes moved to adjourn the <br />meeting. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Hayes, Oldham, Parks, Paschal, Reives, Shook, and Womack <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been opted unanirraously and the meeting adjourned at <br />8:50 p.m. ` 4 <br />ATTEST: <br />a A.
