Section 1. The Board of Commissioners, having received from the Lee County Board of <br /> Elections a certified copy of the proceedings of said Board of Elections taken on November 13, <br /> 2020, evidencing said Board's determination of the result of the canvass of the returns of the <br /> bond referendum held in the County of Lee, North Carolina on November 3, 2020, upon the <br /> question of approving $25,000,000 Parks and Recreation Bonds of said County, does hereby <br /> declare and certify the result of said referendum to be the result which is set forth in the <br /> following statement of the result of said referendum, which statement has been prepared by said <br /> Board of Commissioners: <br /> STATEMENT OF THE RESULT <br /> OF THE <br /> BOND REFERENDUM <br /> HELD IN THE <br /> COUNTY OF LEE, NORTH CAROLINA <br /> ON NOVEMBER 3, 2020 <br /> UPON THE QUESTION OF APPROVING <br /> $25,000,000 PARKS AND RECREATION BONDS <br /> At a bond referendum held in the County of Lee, North Carolina on November 3, 2020, <br /> 38,705 voters were registered and qualified to vote. <br /> At said referendum 16,180 votes were cast for the order adopted on July 20, 2020, <br /> authorizing $25,000,000 Parks and Recreation Bonds of the County of Lee, North Carolina, plus <br /> interest, for the purpose of providing funds, together with any other available funds, for <br /> acquiring, constructing, expanding and improving various parks and recreational facilities for <br /> said County, including, without limitation, a multi-sport complex and any related land, rights of <br /> way and equipment, and providing that additional taxes may be levied in an amount sufficient to <br /> pay the principal of and interest on said bonds, and 11,436 votes were cast against said order, and <br /> that a majority of the qualified voters of the County of Lee, North Carolina who voted thereon at <br /> said referendum voted in favor of said order, said order was thereby approved and is in force and <br /> effect. <br /> 2 <br />
