C. _ Information Meeting Date: April 16, 2012 _ Action Item XX Consent Agenda SUBJECT Lee County High School Renovation Project DEPARTMENT Administration CONTACT PERSON John Crumpton REQUEST Consider request from the Lee County Board of Education to access the $400,000 contingency fund for the LCHS Renovation Project. SUMMARY The Lee County High School Renovation project is nearing completion. As the project comes to a close the BOE is now making decisions to complete certain items that either were removed or left out of the base bid /award. One project that was left out was the paving of the back parking lot. This lot was where one of the POD units was located during the construction. This unit has now been removed and placed at CCCC. The other POD unit will soon be removed and placed at Bragg Street Alternative School. The back parking lot paving was not part of the base bid. Now the lot needs to be repaved and the BOE is requesting the use of the contingency fund to pay for the work. BUDGET IMPACT $195,527 to be used from the LCHS project contingency fund ATTACHMENT(S) Letter from Dr. Jeff Moss, LCS Superintendent PUBLIC HEARING No PRIOR BOARD ACTION This is the first discussion of the Projects Contingency Fund. The Board has had many other discussions and allocated over $22 million to the BOE for the renovation. RECOMMENDATION Approve request from the BOE to use $195,527 in contingency funds as stated above.
