Old business was opened with the only agenda item being the SNS update. Sarah Arthur Presented this update on behalf of the Lee County Health Department. The contents of this update may be reviewed in Appendix A of this document. Old business was closed by Chairperson Holt at the conclusion of this update. No items were presented for New Business Three agenda items were listed for other business. The first of which was a presentation to Roger Tankersley by the committee. A plaque was presented to thank him for his service as Chairperson. Chairperson Holt spoke on the excellent job done by Mr. Tankersley and thanked him for his 8 years of service. The second item was a presentation on sever weather by Lee County Emergency Services. Secretary Britt lead a presentation and group discussion on the impacts of and preparedness for Hurricanes and Tornados. Members of the committee were able to discuss their organizations impacts from the most recent Tornado and emergency measures were described. The presentation was concluded with an invitation for any organization needing assistance in disaster planning to contact Lee County Emergency Services or Chairperson Holt. Lastly. Roger Millikin of Lee County Emergency Services reviewed contact information with each member of the committee. Ensuring that all listed persons were correctly identified and their current contact info documented. This list will be available to all members of the committee. Moving to Chairpersons Comments, Chairperson Holt had nothing additional to add. Chairperson Holt recognized Lee County Commissioner Kirk Smith who spoke on DOT improvements. He described a survey currently open to the public that allows Lee County residents to comment on needed roadway improvements. He advised he would forward this survey to the Secretary,who would in turn send to all members of the committee. Following Commissioner Smith, the Chairperson recognized Ben Wooten from North Carolina Emergency Management. Mr. Wooten advised the group on how well recent Emergency Operations Drills had gone in preparation for the Harris Nuclear Exercise. He also, advised the group of the upcoming out of sequence events for the Harris Exercise. Chairperson Holt finally recognized Josh Brooks of North Carolina Department of transportation. Mr. Brooks introduced himself as the DOT supervisor for both Lee and Moore County. He also mentioned his assistant county engineer Brad Odem who was not present. Moving forward Mr. Brooks will spend Tuesdays and Thursdays of every week in Lee County, with Mr. Odem being present on the opposite days. Mr. Brooks expressed his interest in working with the county in emergency preparedness and future needs. Chairperson Holt advised the group of the next scheduled meeting for June 19,2019 at Pfizer. Further, he made it clear that only persons submitting their name for the next meeting will be placed on the security access roster at Pfizer. All of those not on the roster will not be allowed access. At this time Chairperson Holt brought the meeting to a close and thanked everyone for attending, meeting adjourned.
