Old business was opened with the only agenda item being the SNS update. Sarah Arthur Presented this <br /> update on behalf of the Lee County Health Department. The contents of this update may be reviewed in <br /> Appendix A of this document. Old business was closed by Chairperson Holt at the conclusion of this <br /> update. <br /> No items were presented for New Business <br /> Three agenda items were listed for other business. The first of which was a presentation to Roger <br /> Tankersley by the committee. A plaque was presented to thank him for his service as Chairperson. <br /> Chairperson Holt spoke on the excellent job done by Mr. Tankersley and thanked him for his 8 years of <br /> service. <br /> The second item was a presentation on sever weather by Lee County Emergency Services. Secretary <br /> Britt lead a presentation and group discussion on the impacts of and preparedness for Hurricanes and <br /> Tornados. Members of the committee were able to discuss their organizations impacts from the most <br /> recent Tornado and emergency measures were described. The presentation was concluded with an <br /> invitation for any organization needing assistance in disaster planning to contact Lee County Emergency <br /> Services or Chairperson Holt. <br /> Lastly. Roger Millikin of Lee County Emergency Services reviewed contact information with each <br /> member of the committee. Ensuring that all listed persons were correctly identified and their current <br /> contact info documented. This list will be available to all members of the committee. <br /> Moving to Chairpersons Comments, Chairperson Holt had nothing additional to add. Chairperson Holt <br /> recognized Lee County Commissioner Kirk Smith who spoke on DOT improvements. He described a <br /> survey currently open to the public that allows Lee County residents to comment on needed roadway <br /> improvements. He advised he would forward this survey to the Secretary,who would in turn send to all <br /> members of the committee. Following Commissioner Smith, the Chairperson recognized Ben Wooten <br /> from North Carolina Emergency Management. Mr. Wooten advised the group on how well recent <br /> Emergency Operations Drills had gone in preparation for the Harris Nuclear Exercise. He also, advised <br /> the group of the upcoming out of sequence events for the Harris Exercise. <br /> Chairperson Holt finally recognized Josh Brooks of North Carolina Department of transportation. Mr. <br /> Brooks introduced himself as the DOT supervisor for both Lee and Moore County. He also mentioned <br /> his assistant county engineer Brad Odem who was not present. Moving forward Mr. Brooks will spend <br /> Tuesdays and Thursdays of every week in Lee County, with Mr. Odem being present on the opposite <br /> days. Mr. Brooks expressed his interest in working with the county in emergency preparedness and <br /> future needs. <br /> Chairperson Holt advised the group of the next scheduled meeting for June 19,2019 at Pfizer. Further, <br /> he made it clear that only persons submitting their name for the next meeting will be placed on the <br /> security access roster at Pfizer. All of those not on the roster will not be allowed access. <br /> At this time Chairperson Holt brought the meeting to a close and thanked everyone for attending, <br /> meeting adjourned. <br />
