BK:00024 PG:0812 <br />LEE COUNTY <br />© O G34© Gnai G B <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE <br />OF A BUILDING AND TWO LOTS ON LINDEN AVENUE IN THE CITY OF SANFORD <br />TO THE SANFORD HOUSING AUTHORITY <br />WHEREAS, Lee County acquired title to a Building and three lots on the South side of <br />Linden Avenue in the City of Sanford by Deed recorded in Book 432 Page 580 in the Office of <br />the Register of Deeds for Lee County with the property bearing the PIN Numbers of 9643 -82- <br />1177-00, 9643 -82- 0185 -00 and 9643 -82- 2250 -00; and more particularly described as follows: <br />All of Lot Numbers 54, 55, and 56 according to a map entitled "Property of <br />Father George Mills, Sanford, NC" made by Southern Mapping and Engineering <br />Company Greensboro, NC, dated May 15, 1954, and recorded in Map Book 5, <br />Page 17, Lee County Registry, to which map reference is made for a more perfect <br />description. <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Lee County desires to dispose of the Building <br />and two of the Lots, Lots 55 and 56, upon which the Building stands as being surplus to the <br />County's needs, and; <br />WHEREAS, the County has the authority pursuant to North Carolina General Statutes <br />§153A -176 to dispose of real property belonging to it according to the procedures prescribed in <br />North Carolina General Statutes, Chapter 160A, Article 12 and has the specific authority <br />pursuant to North Carolina General Statute §160 -279 to convey by private sale real property <br />which it owns to a public or private entity which carries out a public purpose, and; <br />WHEREAS, the Sanford Housing Authority, is a non - profit corporation serving the public <br />purpose of providing decent and safe rental housing for eligible low- income families, the <br />elderly, and persons with disabilities, and; <br />WHEREAS, the Sanford Housing Authority, by and through the authority of its Board of <br />Directors and Executive Director, has offered to purchase from the County the Building and Lots <br />55 and 56 upon which the Building stands as described above for the sum of FOURTY <br />THOUSAND DOLLARS ($40,000) and agreed to use the property in furtherance of its public <br />purpose. <br />
