WHEREAS, George Orwell writes in 1984, "Every record has been destroyed or <br />falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and <br />street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is <br />continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists <br />except an endless present in which the Party is always right. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of Commissioners <br />that: <br />1. The Lee County Board of Commissioners let it be known to: the President of the <br />United States, The Secretary of Defense, The Secretary of the Army, the United States <br />Congress, The North Carolina Governor, and the North Carolina General Assembly, <br />that this body remains firmly committed to maintaining the name of Fort Bragg. <br />2. The County Clerk is directed to forward copies of this resolution to President Donald <br />J. Trump, Secretary of Defense Dr. Mark T. MANAGERS REPORTS <br />VI.A Preliminary June 2020 Financial Report <br />Assistant County Manager/Finance Director Lisa Minter presented a preliminary <br />monthly financial report for June 2020. Sales tax revenues run three months <br />behind. There are also other revenues and expenditures related to FY 2019- <br />2020 that will be booked between now and mid-August. At this time, we are <br />103.11 % of our ad valorem tax budget. Sales tax reports are attached showing <br />revenues received through May 2020 collections. We are still tracking well <br />against budget figures and are seeing growth in the 4-5% range. Sales tax revenues typically run three months <br />behind. Revenues are low in the month of July because many of the amount <br />received in July are for June services have to be posted to the prior year. At this <br />time, we are 1.68% of our ad valorem tax budget. We are 1.4% behind last July. <br />12 <br />
