<br />WHEREAS, the wrongful death of George Floyd sparked an unrelenting wave of
<br />chaos, violence, rioting, and destruction of historical monuments throughout the United
<br />States, and
<br />WHEREAS, monuments and statues have been removed, defaced, destroyed by
<br />anarchists and groups intent on the overthrow of this Constitutional Republic, and
<br />WHEREAS, the current plague of political correctness, flooding across the nation calls
<br />for the canceling of our history, the removal of historical monuments, as well the
<br />changing of names of prominent historical figures, and
<br />WHEREAS, There is currently a national movement to change the names of Army
<br />Posts, with our neighboring Fort Bragg on that very list of re -writing history, and
<br />WHEREAS, Fort Bragg was named after North Carolina native, General Braxton
<br />Bragg, who was born March 22, 1817, in Warrenton, North Carolina, and
<br />WHEREAS, Bragg attended West Point, graduating in 1837, fifth in a class of fifty
<br />cadets, went on to lead United States soldiers in the Seminole War, was commended
<br />for bravery in the Mexican American War receiving a promotion to Lieutenant Colonel,

<br />WHEREAS, Bragg served as a Confederate General Officer, commanding the Army of
<br />Mississippi from 1861-1865, and
<br />WHEREAS, Fort Bragg is the home of the US FORCES COMMAND, the 18th Airborne
<br />Corps, the Special Operations Command, the JFK Special Warfare Center, and the
<br />82nd Airborne Division, just to name a few of America's finest troops, and
<br />WHEREAS, The world renown name of Fort Bragg, places fear in the hearts of our
<br />enemies and potential enemies, knowing that the finest fighting forces can reach out
<br />and touch them within hours, and
<br />WHEREAS, Brothers and Sisters in Arms maintain the honorable tradition of respecting
<br />the fallen, as well maintain the same respect for Confederate Veterans, who were
<br />subsequently pardoned, and
