V.B Request for Relief of Late List Penalty - Mr. Dean Arnold
Tax Administrator Michael Brown presented a request from Mr. Dean Arnold, Tax
Payer, for relief of a late list penalty. Per NCGS 105-307(a), a taxpayer is required to
file a listing with the tax office by January 31. The 2020 listing was filed by US Mail
with postmark of February 27th, and received in the Tax Office on March 2, 2020.
The Tax Assessor must apply a 10% late listing penalty per NCGS 105-312(h). After
consideration of all facts and information provided, a decision is requested regarding
the request for relief of a late list penalty of county taxes in the amount of $426.25,
and Deep River Fire District in the amount of $63.25, under NCGS 105-312(k) for a
total of $489.50. Per the Late List Penalty Guidelines adopted by the Board of
Commissioners in 2013, the Board may approve a reduction of the late list penalty of
up to 50% based on the listing having been postmarked within 30 days of the close
of the annual listing period. A 50% reduction in the penalty would result in county
taxes of $213.13, and Deep River Fire District of $31.63, for a total of $244.76.
Dean Arnold Request for Relief of Penalty.pdf
ARNOLD, DEAN LISTING FORM.pdf
ARNOLD, DEAN 2020 TAX BILL.pdf
2020 Bill Inquiry Account View.docx
NCGS 105-307.docx
NCGS 105-312.docx
Resolution Late Tax Listing Penalty Guidelines.pdf
Motion: Motion to approve late list penalty relief
Mover: Dr. Andre Knecht
Moved To: Approve
For: 7 - Amy Dalrymple, Kevin Dodson, Arianna Del Palazzo, Dr. Andre
Knecht, Robert Reives, Cameron Sharpe, Kirk Smith Motion Result: Passed
V.0 Moncure Hills Subdivision - Preliminary Plat
Planning staff presented a Preliminary Plat for Moncure Hills Subdivision, a 50 -lot
residential subdivision located off of Lower Moncure Road.
