goo 4 49 <br />LEE COUNTY <br />CJ O 0 O Cl T-0-0 1• - 6 0 <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />JOINT MEETING BETWEEN THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, <br />SANFORD CITY COUNCIL, BROADWAY TOWN COMMISSIONERS, <br />AND THE <br />LEE COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION <br />LEE COUNTY GOVERNMENT CENTER <br />106 HILLCREST DRIVE <br />SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA 27330 <br />OCTOBER 6, 201 <br />The joint meeting between the above listed Boards' convened at 5 p.m. in the Gordon Wicker <br />Conference Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, on <br />said date. Commissioners present were Richard B. Hayes, Larry "Doc' Oldham, Charles T. Parks, <br />Robert T. Reives, Linda A. Shook, and James K. Womack, Jr. Commissioner Nathan E. Paschal was <br />out of town and absent for said meeting. Staff in attendance included County Manager John Crumpton, <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle, and Clerk to the Board Gaynell Lee. <br />Chairman Shook called the meeting to order for the Lee County Board of Commissioners and <br />declared a quorum present. <br />Other Boards' were called to order by their Mayor or Chairman. <br />Commissioner Womack moved to approve the agenda as presented. Upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Hayes, Oldham, Parks, Reives, Shook, and Womack <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Paschal <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Linda Shook, Chairman of the Lee County Board of Commissioners welcomed everyone and <br />stated this was the first of many meetings. She gave a brief overview of items to be discussed during <br />the meeting. <br />Commissioner Jim Womack discussed the decision by the Lee County Board of Commissioners <br />at their June 20, 2011 meeting, to bring the Economic Development department in house and report to <br />the County Manager. A handout that was received from the School of Government entitled "UNC Basic <br />Economic Development Course" was discussed. <br />County Manager John Crumpton stated that he will be working with the various Boards' to <br />develop a strategic plan to move forward with the project. <br />
