® ~OOX 10 "nor 402 <br />The written request of the City of Sanford for tax relief on <br />vacant property in its Community Development Program was presented to the Board. <br />The County Attorney advised the Board that it did not have authority to grant such <br />relief and therefore, upon advice of counsel, the Board took no action. <br />Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen moved that Mr. Beady Waddell <br />and Mr. Fred Garner be re-appointed to the Lee County Commission on Youth for <br />full terms. Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke seconded the motion and upon a <br />vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the resolution to <br />standardize the appointment process, which provides that all appointees terms <br />expire on June 30th of the year in which the appointments end, as set forth in the <br />resolution, a copy of which is attached hereto and by this reference made a part <br />hereof, be adopted. Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen seconded the motion and <br />upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The Board discussed but did not act upon a draft of a standardize <br />procedure to follow in keeping and maintaining vending machines on County property. <br />The County Manager reminded the Board that it was to meet with <br />the School Board at 1:30 o'clock p. m. on March 17th and again on March 24th with <br />the Board of Trustees of Central Carolina Technical College. <br />The Board again discussed employment of an auctioneer. It was <br />decided to employ Mr. Clinton C. Pickard, as auctioneer. <br />Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen moved that the resolution pertaining <br />to sale of surplus property, both real and personal, a copy of which is attached <br />hereto, be adopted. Commissioner John E. Dotterer seconded the motion and upon a <br />vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The letter of Mrs. Joseph Riddick Martin, concerning the Mary <br />Margaret McLeod Youth Home on Hawkins Avenue, was brought to the attention of <br />the Board. <br />There being no further business <br />adjourned.
