422 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, May 3rd, 1982 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners Room, <br />second floor, County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, <br />on Monday, May 3rd, 1982, at 9:30 o'clock a, m. Those present were Commiss- <br />ioners John E. Dotterer, Jack D. Funderburke, K. S. Harmon, Lila P. Nielsen, <br />and Gordon A. Wicker. None of the Commissioners were absent. The Chairman <br />declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman K. S. Harmon presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />The Reverend Ben Rouse, Pastor of the Jonesboro United Meth- <br />odist Church, gave the invocation. <br />Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke moved that the minutes of the <br />regular meeting held on April 19, 1982, be approved and ordered recorded. Comm- <br />issioner John E. Dotterer seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously <br />adopted. 1 <br />Mr. Leonard Barefoot, County Planner, appeared before the Board <br />and presented the request of the Carolina Trace Corporation for a twelve months <br />extension on the period in which to make improvements as requested by the subdivision <br />ordinance. Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the request for a one year <br />extension by the Carolina Trace Subdivision be approved. Commissioner Jack D. <br />Funderburke seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. Elwin Buchanan, Grants Director, appeared before the Board <br />and reviewed the projects being supervised by him. <br />Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke moved that a change order in <br />the amount of $120. 00 be approved for location of a valve in the Industrial Park. <br />Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unani- <br />mously adopted. <br />
