° oK 1Q pm"r 513 <br />(2) The Board of Commissioners hereby requests <br />and recommends that the Project be approved by the Sec- <br />retary of the Department of Commerce, notwithstanding the <br />fact that the Company does not pay an average weekly manu- <br />facturing wage above the average weekly manufacturing wage <br />paid in Lee County. <br />(3) The Clerk of the Board of Commissioners is hereby <br />authorized and directed to provide a certified copy of this reso- <br />lution to the Department. <br />(4) This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its <br />passage. <br />Commissioner Wicker moved the passage of the foregoing resolution <br />and Commissioner Funderburke seconded the motion, and the resolution was passed <br />by the following vote: <br />AYES: John E. Dotterer, Jack D. Funderburke, Lila P. <br />Nielsen and Gordon A. Wicker <br />NAYES: None <br />ABSENT: K. S. Harmon <br />The Board next discussed travel allowances. The County Manager <br />recommended that certain county employees be paid a monthly travel allowance r <br />in lieu of mileage. Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke moved that the County <br />Manager be authorized and directed to implement his recommendations for travel <br />allowance. Commissioner John E. Dotterer seconded the motion and upon a vote it <br />was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the Board go on record <br />as asking the Lee-Harnett Mental Health to request the Lutheran Family Services to <br />find a more suitable location for its "Willie M" house than its present house in the <br />Pocket Community. Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke seconded the motion and <br />upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />There-being no further busin es g -ome before the session, it was <br />adjourned, sine die. / <br />
