COUNTY OF LEE <br />eooR 10 rA~~ 521 <br />NORTH CAROLINA <br />• The Lee County Commissioners met on July 19, 1982, in a regular metting and <br />adopted the following resolution: <br />WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Transportation with Governor Hunt's Good Roads <br />Program allocated funds of $152,777.22 are available for rural secondary road <br />improvements in Lee County for the forthcoming construction season anU a public <br />hearing was held on July 19, 1982 in the County Commissioners Room, Lee County <br />Office building on expenditure of said funds: <br />WHEREAS, it is proposed to retain approximately 26% of the total proposed allocation <br />$39,777.22 for small projects that may come up during the year such as road <br />additions, property owner participation projects, volunteer fire department and <br />rescue squad drives, project overruns, drainage, guardrails, etc. <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners recognizes the great need for improvement of <br />secondary roads in Lee County; and <br />WHEREAS, Department of Transportation Officials have said that funds from Governor Hunt's <br />Good Roads Program in the amount of $152,777.22 have been allocated to Lee County <br />for improvement of secondary roads for Fiscal Year 1982-1983; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Tran.4ortation presented to us a priority list of roads in Lee <br />County determined by the Statewide criteria for consideration and approval. <br />'WAKd AS, it is proposed to survey, secure right of way, grade, drain, base, pave, and <br />erosion control straight down the priority list for the following projects within <br />available funds, provided rights of way are available. Roads to be considered for <br />• improvement during 1982-1983 Fiscal Year are as shown, to utilize $50,000.00 <br />.y See Attachment A <br />WHEREAS, it is proposed to utilize $23,000.00 in the spot stabilization of unpaved roads, <br />roads to be considered: <br />See Attachment B <br />WHEREAS, it is proposed to widen existing paved roads to utilize $40,000.00, roads to be <br />considered: <br />See Attachment C <br />BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS of the Department of Transportation proceed with <br />these projects as far as the Secondary Road Bond and Secondary Road Allocation for the <br />Fiscal Year 1982-1983 will allow. <br />CERTIFICATE <br />The foregoing resolution was <br />day of <br />Commission. <br />Witness may hand and official <br />adopted by the Lee County Board of Commissioners on the <br />1982 and appears on the minutes of the said <br />seal this the <br />• <br />Chairman, Board of Commissioners <br />County of Lee <br />of <br />Clerk, Board of Commissioners <br />County of Lee <br />1982. <br />
