BOCK 10 PArF 518 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, August 2nd, 1982 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of <br />Lee, convened in the Commissioners Room on the second floor of the County Office <br />Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, on Monday, August 2nd, <br />1982, at 9:30 a.m. Those present were Commissioners K,S. Harmon, Jack D. Funder- <br />burke, Lila P. Nielsen, and Gordon A. Wicker. Commissioner John E. Dotterer <br />was absent. <br />Chairman K.S. Harmon presided and the following business was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Father Maurice Spillane of Saint Stephens <br />Catholic Church. <br />Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen moved that the minutes of the regular meeting <br />he1d on July 19th, 1982, be corrected deleting the last sentence in the fifth para- <br />graph on the first page and be approved as corrected. Commissioner Jack D. Funer- <br />burke seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The Board next discussed the resolution from the Department of Transportation <br />which was presented at the last meeting and on which no action was taken. Commissioner <br />Dotterer joined the meeting and participated in the further deliberations of the Board. <br />Commissioner Nielsen moved that the resolution be approved and that the County Manager <br />be instructed to check with the Department of Transportation to obtain more information <br />on where the funds are for roads that had work scheduled but have not been finished. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously <br />adopted. A copy of the Department of Transportation resolution is attached and by <br />this reference made a part hereof. <br />Mr. Tim Westbrook, Tax Supervisor, appeared before the Board to request <br />approval to submit a grant application for land records software to be used in <br />conjunction with the county's present data processing system. Upon motion by <br />Commissioner John E. Dotterer, seconded by Commissioner Funderburke, the motion <br />was unanimously approved. <br />The Board next considered a resolution establishing just compensation for <br />a structure in the San-Lee Heights Community Development area as presented by Elwin <br />J. Buchanan, Grants Administrator. After some discussion, Commissioner Dotterer <br />moved that this structure be acquired for $450.00. Commissioner Wicker seconded <br />the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. A copy of the resolution and <br />map of the property on which the structure is located is attached and by this <br />reference made a part hereof. <br />
