WHEREAS, the petitions have been examined and <br />it has been determined that the petitions contain more than <br />fifteen (15%) per cent of the resident freeholders living in <br />the respective areas; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has a duty <br />to call said elections under N. C. G. S. 69-25.1; <br />.NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF LEE, <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The question whether the qualified voters in the <br />area described in the petitions and designated as Lemon <br />Springs, Tramway and West Sanford Fire Districts, shall <br />approve or dis-approve the levying and collecting a special <br />tax on all taxable property in said districts of not exceeding <br />15~ of the $100 valuation of property for the purpose of <br />providing fire protection in said districts shall be submitted <br />to the qualified voters of said districts residing in Lee County, <br />at an election to be held on November 2nd, 1982; <br />2. The Lee County Board of Elections is hereby <br />directed to hold and conduct the election in said districts and shall <br />advertise and conduct said election in accordance with Article 3A <br />entitled "Rural Fire Protection District" of Chapter 69 of the <br />General Statutes of North Carolina, and-with the procedures <br />prescribed in Chapter 163 of the General Statutes of North <br />Carolina, governing the conduct of special and general elections. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the resolution and <br />upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mrs. Pattie Mae McGilvary, Register of Deeds, appeared before <br />the Board and presented the low bids received for duplicating books in her office <br />to complete the project begun approximately three years ago. She recommended <br />the low bid of Hall & McChesney. Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke moved that <br />the Board authorize the Register of Deeds to accept the low bid of Hall & McChesney <br />for the duplication of books in the Register of Deeds office. Commissioner John <br />E. Dotterer seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The County Manager presented Employee Performance Evaluation <br />forms for both non-supervisory and supervisory personnel. The forms were <br />reviewed and discussed, after which Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that <br />the Board authorise the use and directed that the forms be put into effect. Comm- <br />issioner Lila P. Nielsen seconded the motion and upon a vote, Commissioners Dotterex <br />Funderburke, Nielsen and Harmon voted for it and Commissioner Wicker voted <br />against it. <br />
