eov <br />10 539 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, August 16th, 1982 r <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee, convened in the Commissioners Room on the second floor of the County <br />Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, on Monday, August 16, <br />1982, at 7:00 o'clock p. m. Those present were Commissioners John E. Dotterer, <br />Jack D. Funderburke, K. S. Harmon, Lila P. Nielsen and Gordon A. Wicker. None <br />of the Commissioners were absent. <br />Chairman K. S. Harmon presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />The invocation was given by K, R. Hoyle, the County Attorney and <br />Clerk to the Board. <br />Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the minutes of the <br />regular meeting held on Monday August 2, 1982, be approved and ordered recorded. <br />Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke seconded the motion and upon a vote it was <br />unanimously *adopted. <br />Mr. Elwin Buchanan, Grants Administrator, appeared before the <br />Board and presented the bids he had received to perform an Environmental Impact <br />Study. The bids received were Miller, Williams & Works - $2,400.00; Boney & <br />Associates - $2, 500. 00; and Triangle J Council of Government - $1, 687. 50. After <br />discussion of the bids, Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the County`. <br />accept the low bid of the Triangle J Council of Government in the amount of <br />$1, 687. 50, for the Environmental Impact Study. Commissioner John E. Dotterer <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. Elwin J. Buchanan, Grants Administrator, presented to the <br />Board, proposals from James Godwin & Associates, to amend Community Develop- <br />ment applications pertaining to the work in the San-Lee Heights and the Deep River <br />Community. Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the proposals submitted <br />from James Godwin & Associates, be accepted. Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. Elwin J. Buchanan, Grants Administrator, requested authority <br />for his department to proceed with preliminary work on the Sanford Brick Housing <br />Project at Colon, with the firm of Miller, Williams & Works. Commissioner John <br />E. Dotterer moved that the Board authorize the Grants Department to proceed with <br />the preliminary work on the Sanford Brick Housing Project at Colon. Commissioner <br />Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />
