r <br />~Wn,K 10 i'rrr 1570 <br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY <br />T , STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Friday, October 29, 1982 <br />The Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of, Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners Room, second <br />floor, County Office Building, 200 Wicker -Street,•Sanford, North Carolina, on <br />Friday, October 29, 1982, at 12:00 o'clock noon, the same being the time, date <br />and place specified in the call issued by the Chairman. Those present were <br />Commissioners K. S.' Harmon, Lila P, Nielsen, and Gordon A. Wicker. Those <br />absent were Commissioners John E. Dotterer and Jack D. Funderburke. The <br />Chairman declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of <br />business; <br />Chairman K. S. Harmon presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />W. M. Womble, Sr., Chairman of the Sanford-Lee County Airport <br />Authority, appeared before the Board, together with Mr. Elwin Buchanan, Grants <br />Administrator, and recommended that the Board accept a grant for $200, 000. 00, from <br />the Federal Aviation Administration. They also reported that the City of Sanford <br />had voted to accept the grant. They also reported that the work to be done with the <br />grant funds was a continuation of and within the scope of the master plan previously <br />approved. <br />During the discussion about the grant, Commissioner John E. <br />Dotterer joined the meeting and participated in the further deliberations of the. <br />Board. <br />After a general discussion and review, Commissioner Lila P. <br />Nielsen moved the adoption of the following resolution: <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE: <br />Section 1. That said Board of Commissioners hereby <br />authorizes, adopts, approves, accepts and ratifies the execution <br />of Grant Agreement for $200, 000 between the Federal Aviation <br />Administration on behalf of the United States of America and the <br />County of Lee. <br />Section 2. That the execution of said Grant Agreement in <br />quadruplicate on behalf of said Board of Commissioners, by K. S. <br />
