BOOK EKE S2 <br />the week of February 6th through February 12th, 1983, as "D. F. Holder" week, <br />in recognition of the public services rendered by D. F. Holder as Sheriff of the <br />County and as a Police Officer and Jailer, and further, that the County Manager <br />be authorized to prepare a proclamation for execution by the Chairman and <br />incorporated in these minutes. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., second- <br />ed the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. Josephus D. Jacobs, County Supervisor for the Farmers <br />Home Administration (USDA), appeared before the Board and requested that <br />the Board provide funds for the employment of a Loan Assistant to work in the <br />Farmers Home Administration office, for a period of six months. The matter <br />was discussed and the Board took the request under advisement. <br />The amendments to the five year program contained in the <br />Transportation Development Plan for Lee County, as prepared by Robinson <br />Sanderlin & Associates, of Raleigh, North Carolina, in January 1983, were <br />presented to the Board. <br />Mrs. Reggie Durham, Lee County Council Of Aging, appeared <br />before the Board and explained the amendments and requested their approval. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. , moved that the amendments, as presented <br />to the Board, be approved. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the <br />motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The County Manager presented to the Board, a proposal from the <br />North Carolina Department of Natural Resources and Community Development, <br />which would allow for digitizing the soils data compiled for the soil survey in <br />
