0 <br />BOOK 11 ?1,CE 91 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />tl <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, March 21, 1983 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 7:00 o'clock p. m. , on <br />Monday,. March 21, 1983, in the Commissioners Room, on the second floor <br />of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. <br />Those present were Commissioners Jerry M. Almond, John R. Dossenbach, <br />Jr. , John E. Dotterer, Bertha L. Matthews and Gordon A. Wicker. Chair- <br />man John E. Dotterer declared a quorum present and the meeting open for <br />the transaction of business. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business <br />was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Mr. Walter B. Hartman, Jr. , the <br />County Manager. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting held on March 7, 1983, <br />were corrected and as corrected, were approved and ordered recorded, upon <br />motion of Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews, duly seconded by Commissioner <br />Jerry M. Almond and unanimously adopted upon a vote. <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews moved that the appropriate <br />division of the Department of Transportation be asked to conduct a survey concern- <br />ing the intersections of Secondary Roads Nos. 1146 and 1001, with a view to <br />erection of caution signs, traffic islands, or some appropriate safety device. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unani- <br />mously adopted. <br />Mr. W. W. Seymour, Attorney, appeared before the Board on <br />behalf of the Carolina Trace Corporation. Mr. Seymour asked that the Board <br />consider assisting the Town of Sanford in extending a 12 inch water line south- <br />eastwardly along N. C. Highway 87, for approximately 5, 700 feet, to enable <br />the Carolina Trace Development to attach on to the water line. The matter was <br />
