V. OLD BUSINESS
V.A Strategic Plan Update
Community and Government Relations Manager Jamie Brown provided a brief summary
of Strategic Plan efforts to date. Efforts were delayed by the pandemic. She introduced
Zach Ratkai with SBrand who provided an update on the project. He is from Washington
State and has 16 years of local government experience. Mr. Ratkai has a background in
economic development and land use and is a City employee in Washington State. The
implementation of the Strategic Plan is looking to build upon relationships and
communication within the community. The purpose is to try to achieve alignment on what
we want Lee County to look like in the future, that's why the vision strategy is to look out
about 10 years to set goals and priorities. The benefit of this is helps provide a basis for
decision making and provides a framework to structure goals and services for the future.
The timeline for the plan is to have a written strategic plan completed by August with an
implementation plan with outcome objectives and goals. In May, the process began with
a survey, which will be available for completion until July 3rd. Interviews have been
conducted with various stakeholders and the first advisory group meeting will be
tomorrow. The community meeting is a virtual presentation, which will be advertised. A
mission statement and key areas of focus will be formulated in the first advisory group
meeting with staff. By the end of July, a first draft of the plan will be in place. By August
17, the final strategic plan will be presented. 80 responses have been received on the
survey.
VI.
