Boos 11 P,,,rr 98 The Board next considered a request to be released from the North West Pocket Fire District. No action was taken on this request, however, the County Manager was directed to arrange a meeting with Commissioner Wicker, Tim Westbrook, and the Chiefs of the Volunteer Fire Departments to discuss this matter and to formulate a countywide policy regarding this matter for the Board's consideration. The Board next considered several requests from the San-Lee Humane Society. Upon motion of Commissioner Matthews, seconded by Commissioner Almond, it was unanimously adopted to approve the requests with the exception of the fee schedule and the space request. (Copy of Requests Attached) The County Manager presented for the Board's consideration a proposal to change our current lease on the computer equipment to another leasing company and also to purchase some additional equipment. The County Manager.noted that the interest rate on the current lease is 14.4% whereas the new lease will have an interest rate of 10.76%. Upon motion of Commissioner Almond, seconded by Commissioner Matthews, it was unanimously adopted to approve this new lease and authorize the Chairman to sign the lease contingent upon County Attorney's review and legal opinion on the new lease agreement. The County Manager reminded the Board of the Association of County Commissioners Legislative Briefing in Raleigh on April 28, 1983. Commissioner Almond moved that-the Board.proclaim the week of April 3-9 as "North Carolina State Wolfpack Week" in honor of their recently winning the NCAA Basketball Championship title, which motion was seconded by Commissioners Wicker and Dossenbach and was unanimously adopted.
