° - aoo~ 11 P~,rE 1.03 <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD •OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH-CAROLINA <br />rMonday, April 18, 1983 <br />-,.-,...-m-r-F•r .-..-r..-r-f-r m~cmm:,.-, -,.-,.-„>.-rn<m n,-rmm-r-r o. ,,.-.-m-rmm-.--,.-..-.c $e:;: <br />Y <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 7:00 o'clock p. m., on Monday, April <br />18, 1983, in the Commissioner's Room, on the second floor of, the County Office <br />Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, N. C. Those present were Commissioners <br />Jerry M. Almond, John R. Dossenbach, Jr., John E. Dotterer, Bertha L. Matthews, <br />and Gordon A. Wicker. Chairman Dotterer declared a quorum present and the <br />meeting open for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business <br />was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by the Reverend Jim Staunton, of the <br />Congregational Christian Church. <br />The minutes of the. April 5th, 1983, meeting, were considered and <br />amended. As amended, they were approved and ordered recorded, upon motion of <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, which motion was seconded by Commissioner <br />John R. Dossenbach; Jr., which motion was unanimously adopted upon a vote. <br />The Board next discussed road matters and Commissioner Gordon A. <br />Wicker reported on the priority which had been assigned to improvements on a road <br />iri Greenwood Township. ` <br />The Board next considered Budget Amendment No. 8, of the Lee <br />County Board of.Education, which pertains to that Board's Capital Outlay Fund. The <br />effect of the budget was to increase the account for the purchase of land and decrease <br />the appropriation for improvements to buildings by the amount of $29, 750. 00. Comm- <br />issioner Jerry Almond moved that the changes in the Lee County School Budget <br />as reflected,by Budget Amendment No. 8,.be approved. Commissioner Bertha L. <br />Matthews seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted., <br />The letter of Dr. J. F.' Hockaday, President of Central Carolina <br />Technical College Board of Trustees, requesting $73, 700. 00 for funds to replace <br />the roof on the main classroom at Central Carolina Technical, College, was presented <br />to the Board and discussed. Commissioner Jerry Almond moved that the Board <br />appropriate $50, 000. 00 from the Capital Reserve Fund to the Central Carolina Technical <br />College Fund, for use with funds already budgeted in repairing the roof on the main <br />classroom at the College. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded.the motion . <br />and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />
