H <br />300K 11 ?41s; 112 <br />L. Matthews, which motion was unanimously adopted upon a vote. <br />The Board, upon motion of Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, <br />seconded by Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews, declaring May 24th, 1983, <br />to be Teacher Appreciation Day in Lee County, was approved and directed Mr. Paul Gay <br />and Mr. K. R. Hoyle to prepare a suitable resolution for such occasion. <br />The Board next reviewed the draft of an Ordinance regulating the <br />keeping of wild and vicious animals in Lee County. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond <br />moved the adoption of the Ordinance Regulating the Keeping of Wild and Vicious <br />Animals within Lee County, a copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this <br />reference made a part hereof. Commissioner John A. Dossenbach, Jr., seconded <br />the motion and upon a vote.it was unanimously adopted. <br />The Board discussed the proposals for improving the conservation <br />of energy at the Lee County Library, but decided to take no action at this time. <br />The Board next reviewed correspondence and reports that had been <br />received from County agencies. <br />Commissioner Jerry M. Almond moved that the Board seek to have <br />Legislation enacted by the General Assembly which would allow the Board to both <br />name all-appointees to Lee County Boards and Agencies and likewise, to have the <br />terms of all appointees set to run at the pleasure of the Commissioners. Comm- <br />issioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr, seconded the motion and upon a vote,' Messrs. <br />Almond, Dossenbach and Wicker voted for it and Commissioners Dotterer and <br />Matthews voted against it. The Chairman declared the motion had been adopted by <br />a majority vote. <br />The Board then adjourned as a Board of Commissioners in order to <br />begin their work as 'a Board of Equalization and Review for Lee County. <br />There being no further business to come before the session, it <br />was adjourned, sine die. <br />CHAIRMAN <br />
