11 „.0o; 11 108 MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA x: Monday, May 2nd, 1983 V The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:30 o'clock a. m., on Monday, May 2nd, 1983, in the Commissioner's Room, on,the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, N. C. Those present were Commissioners Jerry M. Almond, John R. Dossenbach, Jr., John E. Dotterer; Bertha L. Matthews, and Gordon A. Wicker, Chairman Dotterer declared a quorum present and the meet- ing open for the transaction of business. Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business was transacted: The invocation was given by Mr. W. B. Hartman, Jr. , the County Manager.. The minutes of the regular meeting held on April 18, 1983, were approved and ordered recorded, upon motion of Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., which motion was seconded by Commissioner Jerry M. Almond,. and upon a vote, unanimously adopted. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the petition requesting that Secondary Road 1543 be improved by having the surface scraped and ditches cleaned, be approved, Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. A petition from a Mr. Crawley, requesting that speed limit on Secondary Roads Nos, 1325 and 1326, be reduced, was presented to the Board. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond asked that the officials of the Highway Division investigate the matter and take appropriate action, Commissioner John-. R. Dossenbach, Jr, seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted, The Board noted the report received concerning the investigation' of the conditions at the intersection of Secondary Roads Nos. 1146 and 1001. Mr. Elwin J. Buchanan, Grants Director, appeared before the Board and reported on the projects being supervised by his department. Mr. Buchanan presented for the Board's consideration, a resolution adopting, approving and ratifying the execution of a grant agreement for Airport improvement Project No. 3-37-0065-02 (Part B), between the United States of America and the County of Lee.
