PUBLIC HEARING <br /> A. Public hearing pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 158-7.1 to consider <br /> amended terms for a proposed economic development project known as <br /> Project Jupiter. <br /> The Board conducted a public hearing pursuant to North Carolina General Statute <br /> 158-7.1 to consider amended terms for a proposed economic development project <br /> known as Project Jupiter. County Attorney Whitney Parrish presented the <br /> amendments. Economic Development Director Bob Joyce reminded the Board that <br /> Project Jupiter is a life sciences project with the subject company proposing to <br /> manufacture a drug therapy product. The amended Project will consist of building <br /> and/or upfitting an industrial building and/or purchasing machinery and equipment in <br /> the amount of at least one hundred and nine million, four hundred thousand dollars <br /> ($109,400) over the seven year span of the agreement. Project Jupiter is a life <br /> sciences company and is expected to create at least two hundred and nine (209) new <br /> jobs with an average annual wage of eighty-three thousand, nine hundred dollars <br /> ($83,900). The wage is higher than the County's average annual wage of$41,784. <br />
