Mr. Smith requested the Board's consideration on the expenditure of funds to lease a second spec building at Central Carolina Enterprise Park once it has been completed. The City of Sanford and the County will lease the building for up to twenty-four months and pay up to $325,000 over a maximum of two years. Six months of the lease, which is $81,250 has been included in the County Manager's recommended budget for FY 2021. Once the building is completed, SAGA will use the building to market Lee County and the City to attract new business or expand current businesses and find an end user that will bring jobs to the County. The following person spoke in favor of the proposed project: -Bob Joyce, SAGA Economic Development Director Commissioner Smith asked whether SAGA considered bidding the project to allow other contractors an opportunity to participate. Mr. Smith responded that Samet is a reputable contractor with a proven track record in building and marketing this type of building.
