VI.B Workers Compensation Insurance Renewal
The County has received the renewal quote for Workers Compensation Insurance
from NCACC for FY 2020 -21. NCACC provides comprehensive coverage to
counties that is uniquely designed to cover our needs and operations. The total
renewal is $389,158. Last year's premium was $367,131. The total increase in
premium of$22,027 is attributable to the adding of staff last year and the estimated
increase in payroll for FY 2020-21 associated with COLA and pay study changes.
Lee Co. 2020 WC Proposal.pdf
Motion: Motion to approve Workers Compensation renewal with NCACC.
Mover: Robert Reives
For: 7 - Amy Dalrymple, Kevin Dodson, Arianna Del Palazzo, Dr. Andre
Knecht, Robert Reives, Cameron Sharpe, Kirk Smith
Motion Result: Passed
VI.0 Offer to Purchase 1807 Douglas Drive, Sanford NC
The County is looking for property to relocate certain departments out of the
Government Center including the IT Department. The final purchase price is not to
exceed$ 650,000. There are still some inspection issues to discuss with the owner.
The intent is to move IT and COLTS to the building, which would free up about 35
parking spots in front of the Government Center. The Board of Elections has asked
to move over by the Courthouse next to Probation. If they move, the Steele Street
Building will become surplus when we are ready to move the Board of Elections.
There are no other properties the county is able to liquidate at this time. The budget
amendment includes the cost of the purchase of the Douglas Drive property and
allocation of funds for renovations, closing costs, and IT operating costs. The
budget amendment also includes funds appropriated for low income energy
assistance for funds coming from the state along with insurance refunds for the
COLTS system for repairs to some of the vans.
Offer to Purchas 1807 Douglas Drive.doc
Motion: Motion to approve the purchase of property located at 1807
Douglas Drive, Sanford, NC at a price not to exceed $650,000.
Mover: Robert Reives
For: 7 - Amy Dalrymple, Kevin Dodson, Arianna Del Palazzo, Dr. Andre
Knecht, Robert Reives, Cameron Sharpe, Kirk Smith
Motion Result: Passed
Motion: Motion to approve Budget Amendment#05/04/20/14.
Mover: Kirk Smith
For: 7 - Amy Dalrymple, Kevin Dodson, Arianna Del Palazzo, Dr. Andre
Knecht, Robert Reives, Cameron Sharpe, Kirk Smith
Motion Result: Passed
4
