F Resolution Requesting North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper Allow Executive Order <br /> 121 to Expire and Reopen North Carolina for Business, Education, and Social Activity <br /> Commissioner Smith requested the Board's consideration of a Resolution <br /> Requesting North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper Allow Executive Order 121 to <br /> Expire and Reopen North Carolina for Business, Education, and Social Activity. <br /> Commissioner Reives asked whether any statements included in the Resolution <br /> have <br /> been researched by the Legal Department. County Attorney Whitney Parrish stated <br /> that she had not had a chance to review and verify the information included in the <br /> Resolution since it had been sent out earlier that day. Commissioner Reives <br /> requested to let the record show that he isn't necessarily in opposition, but is asking <br /> that information be verified for accuracy. Commissioner Sharpe also requested to let <br /> the record show he is not in opposition but wants a chance to review and asked that <br /> the facts be verified. Chair Dalrymple also requested to let the record show that she <br /> is not in opposition and hears the comments from the public. She stated that <br /> President Trump is expected to put out new guidelines on Thursday and as the <br /> Governors adjusts to the new guidelines, the localities will adjust as well. The goal is <br /> to keep people healthy and get people back to work. Commissioner Smith asked <br /> that the Resolution be placed on the agenda for the first meeting in May. <br /> Motion: Motion to table until the Resolution is reviewed by Counsel. <br /> Mover: Robert Reives <br /> For: 4 - Amy Dalrymple, Kevin Dodson, Robert Reives, Cameron Sharpe <br /> Against: 3 - Arianna Del Palazzo, Dr. Andre Knecht, Kirk Smith <br /> Motion Result: Passed <br /> V. G Consideration of Mask Policy Adopted by Durham County. <br /> Commissioner Reives asked the Board to review the policy adopted by the County of <br /> Durham related to wearing masks in public. The Clerk has a copy available. <br /> Commissioner Knecht made the point that Commissioner's Smith's proposed <br /> Resolution would be moot if the discussion is delayed until the next regular meeting <br /> on May 4th since the Governor's executive order is set to expire on April 29th. Chair <br /> Dalrymple asked the Board about having a meeting next Monday, April 27th, after the <br /> President has made his recommendations. The intent of this meeting is to hold <br /> further discussion on the Resolution Requesting North Carolina Governor Roy <br /> Cooper Allow Executive Order 121 to Expire and Reopen North Carolina for <br /> Business, Education, and Social Activity and the President's recommendations that <br /> will be issued on Thursday. <br /> 6 <br />
