The County retained
some of the property to market as an industrial site. The site the County has retained
has a residence on the property. In order to market the land for industrial purposes,
the residence must be demolished or removed. The County is asking the Board to
declare the property as surplus property since it will be severed from the real
property, and to advertise and solicit sealed bids. If multiple bids are received, the
county will award the bid to the highest responsive, responsible bidder. Once
advertised and bids are received, the final approval must be taken by the Board. The
Board retains the right to reject all bids at any time.
Initial Resolution 3.16.20 - JG 3-4-20.docx
Motion: Motion to declare residence located at 192 Tabitha Lane as surplus
and authorize staff to solicit sealed bids in accordance with N.C.G.S. 160A-268.
Mover: Dr. Andre Knecht
For: 6 - Amy Dalrymple, Arianna Del Palazzo, Dr. Andre Knecht, Robert Reives,
Cameron Sharpe, Kirk Smith
Absent: 1 - Kevin Dodson
Motion Result: Passed
VI.E Adopt Lee County Government Social Media Policy
Community and Governmental Relations Manager Jamie Brown presented a new
Social Media Policy for the county that would provide user guidelines on authority
and content.
