It is noted that at this time during <br /> the meeting, there was not a quorum of members present. <br /> DISCUSSION ITEMS <br /> I. Presentation from the Sanford Area Growth Alliance <br /> Sanford Area Growth Alliance Chief Executive Officer Michael Smith provided <br /> information to the Board regarding SAGA's activities including advertisements on <br /> WRAL.com, DCI, and the Triangle Business Journal. The program with WRAL.com is <br /> a 6-month long program where they create online stories that are evergreen in that <br /> they stay relevant. WRAL.com is the most visited website in the Triangle. DCI is a <br /> company out of New York City. DCI composes information provided by SAGA and <br /> sends it to site consultants throughout the world. There is a marketing initiative called <br /> Carolina Core. Sanford and Lee County are a part of two different marketing regions, <br /> the Triangle and Carolina Core. Highway 421 is expected to eventually become <br /> Interstate 685. The Shell Building and Central Carolina Enterprise Park have been <br /> successful public-private partnership initiatives. There may be a business <br /> announcement locating in the shell building in the near future. Mr. Smith asked the <br /> Board to consider conducting similar projects with future shell buildings. The Pfizer <br /> project included a half billion-dollar investment and 300 new jobs. The RISE program <br /> (Real Investment in Sanford Entrepreneurs) is one of the initiatives of SAGA lead by <br /> Chamber Director Meg Moss. Mr. Smith also spoke about the challenge of running into <br /> 1 <br />
