C"69 <br />Proposed Amendment 7. In October of this past year, the Town of Broadway amended their Code <br />of Ordinances by adding the following language: <br />Section 90.01 Keeping of livestock prohibited. <br />(A) No livestock, as defined herein, shall be kept or harbored with the town limits. <br />(B) Livestock shall include horses, mules, donkeys, cattle, llamas, alpacas, sheep, goats, swine, <br />ratites (large flightless birds), and domesticated fowl. <br />Section 5.13 of the UDO regulates agricultural animals. To avoid conflicts in language between the <br />LIDO and the Broadway Code, the following amendment to Section 5.13.3 is recommended. Please <br />note that the new language is shown in bold italic. <br />5.13.3 AGRICULTURAL ANIMALS. (draft language) <br />Horses and Cows are permitted in the RA. RR, and R -20 districts in the incorporated areas of <br />the City of Sanford and extraterritorial jurisdiction of Sanford and Broadway, provided that: <br />(a) The lot size shall be a minimum of 2 acres; <br />(b) All livestock shall be fenced so that they are no closer than two-hundred (200) feet <br />from a dwelling unit; and <br />(c) No more than 2 animals per acre. <br />Note: Swine, Poultry and Goats are not permitted in the City of Sanford. No livestock is <br />permitted within the town limits of the Town of Broadway. <br />
