NEW BUSINESS VI.A Consideration of amendment to Audit Services Agreement with Thompson, Price, Scott, Adams, and Co., P.A. - Lisa Minter The County is required to have an audit of its financial statements each year. On 4/2/2015, the Board of Commissioners approved a five -year audit services proposal with Thompson, Price, Scott, Adams & Co., P.A. The audit of fiscal year ending June 30, 2019 was the last year of the contract. Normally, the County would issue a Request for Proposal for audit services for another five-year period; however, Thompson, Price, Scott, Adams & Co., P.A. has offered to do the audit for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2020 for the same price as this past year ($41,000). Based on a limited number of firms performing government audits, County staff anticipate that only a few firms would submit proposals. There have also been new standards and rules implemented in the last few years that could cause the firms to charge more. Motion: Motion to approve amendment to Audit Services Agreement with Thompson, Price, Scott, Adams, and Co., P.A. to perform period ending June 30, 2020 audit for a fee of$41,000 as presented.
