County Manager's Report — December 16, 2019 <br />Onaoino Projects <br />Courthouse Renovations — Moseley Architects is now working on structural <br />engineering, site survey and the final layout for the Register of Deeds Building. These <br />are the last pieces of work before the project will go to bid after the first of the year. <br />Lee County Government Parks and Recreation Plans — Withers and Ravenel is now <br />working on the final drawings for Horton, OT Sloan, Kiwanis Family and Temple Parks. <br />These projects should be out to bid after the first of the year. <br />Other Items <br />City of Sanford — Annexation — Project Forge — As part of the contractual agreements <br />with the City of Sanford and Bharat Forge, the County has filed an annexation petition <br />request to the City of Sanford for the Hearn and Poindexter properties. The Annexation <br />petition public hearing and vote for the Hearn property occurred during the November 19 <br />City Council meeting. The annexation was approved and the property is now going <br />through rezoning. The Poindexter property (Tabitha Lane) public hearing and vote will <br />occur at the December 17 meeting. Staff from the County is expected to be at this <br />meeting. The City continues to work on preparing the Site in accordance with the <br />contracts. We expect to transfer the Site to the Company in January 2020. <br />State of North Carolina Economic Development Tier Rankings — Attached you will <br />find the recently released report from NC Commerce on the 2020 economic development <br />tier rankings for counties across the State. Lee County remained a Tier II County. <br />Commissioners Budget Retreat — The proposed dates for the annual Budget Kickoff <br />Meeting are January 30 & 31, 2020. With the Boards approval, we will begin planning for <br />the retreat if these dates are acceptable. Location and times to be determined. <br />Reports <br />Tax Report — Attached please find the Tax Collection Summary Report for November. <br />Parks and Recreation — Agenda for the November/December meeting of the Advisory <br />Board is attached, as is a letter of support for the Sports Complex. <br />Building Inspections Report — Attached is the November report. <br />Community Development/Activity Summary — The Technical Review Committee <br />Agenda Memorandum for December. <br />
