Product
We understand that the final product is a five-year comprehensive Strategic Plan for the
County, and we will create a Strategic Plan that DOES NOT sit on a shelf. This Plan will be used.
Why? Because we involve the right people and have the right preparation. We will guide a
facilitated community and partner engagement process that will allow the stakeholders to
evaluate and ultimately select Goals, Priorities, Strategies and Outcomes that the entire
community can use to support the County's vision for the future!
The County can view some examples of the Plans we create on our website
www.shefyltrent.com , but they all reflect the unique culture of each community; are dear,
understandable, and easy to read; and used as a communication tool, not just a detailed
document. We also understand and have experienced firsthand that the community
engagement process can create many other "products". Our methodology is designed to
produce outcomes that result in:
1. Trust
2. Understanding of the County's needs and long-term challenges
3. Buy in and support of the Vision for the future
4. Champions for the implementation moving forward
The stakeholders and the facilitation process build -the foundation that will lead to the successful
outcome: support from partners and the community for your Strategic Plan.
Task Two: Gather information through creative surveys, engagement tools and personal
interviews
This will help us answer two of our critical questions: Where are we now? and Where do
we want to be?
Our work will include designing a community/partner/stakeholder engagement process using
the following:
• In person meetings
• Short online surveys
• Phone calls and emails with stakeholders
• Design of flyers promoting the process
• Strong use of social media to communicate with stakeholders
• Postcards
• Sticky notes t These are two creative and innovative ways to gather feedback.
• White Boards J They have worked very well in other communities!
Sl3rand Consulting, LLC www.shMItrent.com
Page 5 of 11
970.208.6633
