0 0 <br />1t ; ,„E 146 <br />The County Manager, Mr. W. B. Hartman, Jr., delivered his <br />budget message and presented copies of proposed budget to the members of the <br />Board. He also delivered a memo containing alternatives for further budget <br />reductions. <br />Commissioner John R. Dos senbach, Jr., moved that the Board <br />conduct a public hearing on the budget at its next regular meeting on June 20th, 1983, <br />at 7:15 o'clock p. m. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond seconded the motion and <br />upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Representatives of the Council on Aging appeared before the Board <br />and requested that the Council on Aging not be absorbed and made a regular County <br />Department but that it be allowed to furnish this service on a contract basis as an <br />independent organization. Also discussed were the requests by the RSVP that it <br />be released from the Council on Aging Program. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews <br />moved that the Board continue the discussion of the Council on Aging and the RSVP <br />until its next meeting on June 20th, 1983. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond seconded <br />the motion and upon a vote, Commissioners Almond, Dossenbach, Matthews and <br />Dotterer voted for it and Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker voted against it. The <br />Chair ruled the motion had been carried. <br />The Board next discussed its long range capital needs but no action <br />was taken. <br />The Board next discussed the appointments to be made of those <br />persons whose term of office expire on June 30, 1983. No action was taken on the <br />appointments at this time. <br />There being no further business to come before the session, Comm- <br />issioner John.R..Dossenbach, Jr., moved that the meeting adjourn. Commissioner <br />Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />CHAIRMAN <br />
