0 0 80n; <br />3 /~1 <br />• <br />3. At least ten (10) days prior to the public hearing, copies <br />of the preliminary resolution must be mailed to the property <br />owners. <br />4. After the public hearing the Lee County Board of Commissioners <br />may adopt an assessment resolution directing that the project <br />be undertaken. <br />a. The cost to be assessed must be the same as in the <br />preliminary resolution <br />b. Terms of repayment (G.S. 153A-199) <br />E <br />5. Upon completion of the project, cost must be computed <br />including legal fees, interest paid during construction and <br />cost of rights of way, also, cost of publication of notices. <br />After this is completed the county commissioners should adopt <br />a resolution declaring the cost and ordering the preparation of <br />an assessment roll and calling a public hearing thereon <br />(G.S. 153A-196). <br />6. The assessment roll must be filed in the county tax supervisor's <br />office and available for public inspection. <br />7. There must be published at least ten (10) days notice of the <br />completion of the assessment roll (G.S. 153A-196). <br />8. A similar notice must also be mailed to each affected property <br />owner at least ten (10) days before the public hearing. <br />9. At the public hearing the commissioners must hear any objections <br />or comments about the assessment roll. <br />a. The next step is for the commissioners to adopt <br />a resolution confirming the assessment roll. <br />• <br />
