<br />The Board next considered the vacancy on the Board of Trustees
<br />o£ Central Carolina Technical College, occasioned by the expiration of the term
<br />of Mr. R. A. Currie. The Board of Trustees of Central Carolina Technical
<br />College recommended the re-appointment of Mr. R. A. Currie, or as an alter-
<br />native, the appointment of Mr. Tom Potts. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr.
<br />nominated Mr. Fletcher Harris, Commissioner Jerry M. Almond nominated Mrs.
<br />Lynn Hutaff, and Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews nominated Dr. Robert Patter-
<br />son. A vote was held with results that Harris received 3 votes, Hutaff received 1
<br />vote and Dr. Patterson received 1 vote. The Chairman declared Mr. Fletcher
<br />Harris to be the Board's appointee. Mr. John McPhaul, Mrs. Sandra Wilson and
<br />Dr. J. S. Simmons were appointed as representatives on the District Health Board,
<br />upon motion of Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, seconded by Commissioner John
<br />R. Dossenbach, Jr. , which motion was unanimously adopted upon a vote. Dr.
<br />Robert Patterson and Ms. Jean Georgiou were appointed to the Emergency Medical
<br />Services Council, upon motion of Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., which
<br />motion was seconded by Commissioner Jerry M. Almond and unanimously adopted
<br />upon a vote. Mr. William Pretty, Mr. Glen Wheless and Mr. Frank Pruette, were
<br />nominated to be directors of the Lee County Industrial Development Corporation.
<br />Commissioner Jerry M. Almond nominated Mr. O. T. Foushee for a position. An
<br />election was held and the results were that Mr. Pruette received 5 votes, Mr.
<br />Wheless received 4 votes, Mr. Pretty received 4 votes and Mr. Foushee received
<br />2 votes. The Chairman declared Mr. Frank Pruette, Mr. Glen Wheless and Mr.
<br />William Pretty duly elected as the Board's appointees to the Board of Directors of
<br />the Lee County Industrial Development Corporation. The Board next considered
<br />appointments to the Lee County Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control' Financing
<br />Authority. Mrs. Emily Eason, Mr. W. M. Holt, Jr. and Mr. Ben Bullock were
<br />appointed members of said Authority, upon motion of Commissioner Bertha L.
<br />Matthews, seconded by Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., which motion was
<br />unanimously adopted upon a vote. Mr. Harry Thomas and Mrs. Terri Norris were
<br />appointed members of the Mental Health Board, upon motion of Commissioner Bertha
<br />.L. Matthews, seconded by Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., which motion was
<br />unanimously adopted upon a vote. Mrs. Margaret Murchison and Mrs. Jane Barringer
<br />were re-appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Lee County Library, upon motion of
<br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., seconded by Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker,
<br />which motion was unanimously adopted upon a vote. Messrs. Tom Poe and Paul
<br />Barringer were re-appointed to the Local Waste Management Committee, upon motion
<br />of Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, seconded by Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews,
<br />which motion was unanimously adopted upon a vote. The Reverend Dave Early,
<br />Mrs. Margaret Ascough, Mrs. Kathy Bryant and Mrs.' Ophelia Palmer were re-
<br />appointed to the Nursing Home Advisory Committee,- upon motion of Commissioner
<br />Bertha L. Matthews, seconded by Commissioner.John R. Dossenbach, Jr., which motion
<br />was unanimously adopted upon a vote. Mrs. Vera Womack was appointed to replace
<br />Dr. Mary Margaret McLeod on the Nursing Home Advisory Committee, upon motion
<br />of Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews, seconded by Commissioner John R. Dossenbach,
<br />Jr., which motion was unanimously adopted upon a vote. Mr. Don McLaughlin and
<br />Mrs. Barbara Watson were appointed to the County Personnel Board, upon motion of
<br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews, seconded by Commissioner John R. Dossenbach,
